‍Station is a stunning interpretation of a Modern Farmhouse located in the heritage-rich village of Menangle. This property combines traditional aesthetics with modern functionality, featuring a swimming pool and a detached garage, crafted to complement the historical context of its surroundings.

Design and Inspiration

‍Inspired by the heritage character of Menangle and the clean, functional lines of modern farmhouses, Station is a beautiful blend of old and new. The design incorporates classic farmhouse elements such as dormer windows and large, welcoming spaces, with modern finishes and layout.

• Architectural Design: The home features traditional dormer windows and a grand exterior that commands presence while respecting its heritage environment.
• Modern Comforts: Includes a sunken lounge room, an open-plan kitchen and dining area, and state-of-the-art amenities.
• Sustainable Materials: Utilises recycled brickwork, James Hardie Linea Weatherboard, and Colorbond Zincalume roofing, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal.

Challenges and Solutions

‍The main challenge was to meet the stringent requirements of the Wollondilly Council’s Menangle Heritage Conservation Area. This was successfully addressed through a collaborative effort between Berrell Homes, the architect, and the client, ensuring that every aspect of the design and construction was in harmony with local heritage guidelines.
